The Strategic Sourcing Manager will lead category management, supplier strategy and commercial performance across a broad portfolio of MRO and industrial products. This role offers the opportunity to influence business strategy, optimise supplier networks and lead a sourcing team while partnering with stakeholders across sales, operations and supply chain functions.

Job Description

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies across key MRO and industrial product categories to improve profitability and supply competitiveness.
  • Lead commercial negotiations with strategic suppliers, securing favourable pricing, rebate structures and long-term partnership agreements.
  • Drive supplier performance management initiatives, including business reviews, risk assessments and continuous improvement programmes.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Supply Chain and Operations teams to align sourcing strategies with business growth objectives and customer requirements.
  • Identify and deliver cost savings, margin enhancement and working capital improvement opportunities through strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Lead sourcing transformation and process optimisation projects, introducing best practices and governance frameworks across the organisation.
  • Manage, coach and develop a team of sourcing professionals while providing strategic direction for category and supplier management activities.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or related discipline
  • Proven experience in strategic sourcing, procurement or category management within industrial, engineering, manufacturing or distribution environments
  • Experience managing supplier relationships, commercial negotiations and sourcing programmes
  • Strong leadership experience with the ability to develop and coach teams
  • Demonstrated success in delivering cost savings and margin improvement initiatives
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience working across multiple business functions
  • Excellent analytical, project management and problem-solving capabilities
  • Understanding of financial performance drivers, including profitability and working capital management
  • Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies or certification in Six Sigma Black Belt would be advantageous
