The Accounting Team Lead will oversee and manage a team within the accounting and finance department, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance. This role requires strong expertise in industrial/manufacturing accounting processes, managing inventory and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Job Description

Revenue Accounting:

  • Verify and ensure that revenue and direct costs are recognized according to accounting standards
  • Ensuring that invoices are issued to customers promptly and accurately
  • Complete the necessary closing activities for revenue and cost accounting at the end of each month, quarter, and year.
  • Conduct analysis of gross margin and flux variance, review monthly audit schedules, and perform checks on debit and credit note requests.



Inventory Accounting:

  • Ensure accurate recording of inventory
  • Review slow-moving inventory with stakeholders
  • Review of Project and Service WIP, to ensure that there is no long outstanding WIP.
  • Prepare monthly inventory ageing reports
  • Co-ordinate annual physical count



General:

  • Perform and participate in system enhancements to improve on existing work processes and to improve internal control and efficiency for the team.
  • Liaise and support external and internal audit requirements
  • Support Audit and Tax (data, supporting document extraction)
    • Local Layer Posting
  • Documentation/SOP build up on D365 knowledge - Knowledge transfer prep for turnover/reference/etc. Acts as manual when issue arises, to trace back to system understanding.
  • Ad-hoc projects assigned by Management

The Successful Applicant

A successful Accounting Team Lead should have:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Prior experience and exposure to multi legal entities accounts
  • Professional accounting qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA) are advantageous.
  • Proven experience in leading a team of at least 2 members.
  • APAC exposure is a plus
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
