Our client is looking for an experienced VP, Trade Compliance to lead and strengthen its global trade compliance framework from Singapore. This senior role covers import/export compliance, customs matters, export controls, risk assessments, and trade compliance governance across a complex international supply chain, while partnering closely with senior leadership and business teams.

Our client is a global manufacturing and technology group with a strong international footprint across Asia and other key markets. The company operates in a complex supply chain environment, supporting major global customers across fast-moving and highly regulated industries.

As the business continues to grow, trade compliance has become a key priority across its global operations. This role will support the company in strengthening its import/export controls, customs governance, internal processes, and overall trade compliance framework across multiple jurisdictions.

Job Description

  • Lead the development and improvement of the company's global trade compliance framework, covering import/export controls, customs compliance, product classification, valuation, licensing, and permit management.
  • Establish and maintain export control policies, internal guidelines, review processes, and controls to ensure trade compliance is built into day-to-day business operations.
  • Conduct trade compliance risk assessments across global supply chain and cross-border operations, identify key regulatory risks, and develop practical mitigation plans.
  • Stay updated on global trade regulations and provide practical guidance to senior stakeholders and business teams on trade compliance risks and requirements.
  • Partner with legal counsel, external advisors, regulatory authorities, supply chain, engineering, and business teams on trade compliance matters, regulatory filings, audits, and internal training.



The Successful Applicant

  • At least 10 years of experience in international trade compliance, ideally within a regional or global business environment.
  • Strong understanding of export controls and international trade regulations, with practical exposure to product classification, export licensing, and controlled goods or technology reviews.
  • Prior experience in high-tech manufacturing, electronics, semiconductor, precision engineering, industrial technology, or other complex supply chain environments would be preferred.
  • Strong understanding of import/export and customs compliance, including areas such as product classification, customs valuation, country of origin, permits, and trade procedure reviews.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work closely with legal, supply chain, operations, engineering, and commercial teams.
