Job Description

  • Serve as the primary legal advisor supporting business operations across multiple ASEAN markets
  • Provide practical and commercially focused legal guidance to senior stakeholders and business leaders
  • Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial, technology, software, licensing and supplier agreements
  • Advise on regulatory, employment, compliance, intellectual property, data privacy and emerging technology matters
  • Support legal risk management and governance initiatives across regional operations
  • Develop and deliver legal, compliance and governance training programmes for internal stakeholders
  • Partner with global legal teams on cross-border projects, transactions and strategic business initiatives

The Successful Applicant

A successful 'Legal Counsel' should have:

  • Qualified lawyer admitted in a common law jurisdiction
  • Over 10 years of post-qualification experience gained across private practice and/or in-house environments
  • Strong experience supporting business operations across multiple ASEAN jurisdictions
  • Proven track record in commercial contract drafting, negotiation and legal advisory work
  • Experience advising on technology, software, data privacy, compliance and regulatory matters
  • Ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives and business growth
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leadership teams
  • Experience working within multinational organisations and complex cross-border environments
