An established multinational industrial business is seeking a Head of Accounting to oversee accounting operations, governance, controls and reporting across Southeast Asia. Reporting directly to senior regional finance leadership, this role will lead regional accounting teams, drive process improvements and ensure robust compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.

As part of its continued investment in the Asia-Pacific region, the organization is strengthening its finance leadership team and is looking for an experienced accounting leader to oversee Southeast Asia accounting operations, controls and compliance.

Job Description

Reporting to the APAC Finance Director, the successful candidate will:

  • Lead accounting operations and reporting activities across Southeast Asia entities
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, statutory reporting requirements and local regulatory obligations
  • Strengthen financial controls, governance frameworks and risk management processes across the region
  • Manage external audits, statutory audits and regulatory filings across multiple jurisdictions
  • Lead and develop regional accounting teams while driving consistency in processes and reporting standards
  • Partner with finance leadership and country stakeholders to improve operational effectiveness and financial governance
  • Support finance transformation initiatives, systems improvements and automation projects

The Successful Applicant

A successful Head Of Accounting should have:

  • CA, CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification is mandatory
  • 10+ years of accounting, finance controllership or accounting leadership experience
  • Proven experience managing regional accounting or finance teams across multiple countries
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, statutory compliance and audit processes
  • Demonstrated experience building and strengthening governance, compliance and internal controls environments
  • Experience managing external audits, tax compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Hands-on leadership style with strong stakeholder management capabilities
  • Experience with SAP and Hyperion reporting systems will be advantageous
  • Candidates available within a short notice period will be highly regarded
