The position works closely with clients and internal stakeholders to assess transaction risks, safeguard collateral, and support sound financing decisions throughout the transaction lifecycle.

Job Description

  • Monitor and manage trade finance exposures, facility utilisation, and collateral positions across a portfolio of commodity-focused clients.
  • Assess transaction structures and financing requests to ensure alignment with approved credit parameters and internal risk frameworks.
  • Oversee collateral throughout the transaction lifecycle, including inventory, receivables, shipment tracking, insurance, and security documentation.
  • Conduct borrowing base reviews and collateral valuation analysis to ensure adequate security coverage against outstanding exposures.
  • Identify and escalate deviations, emerging risks, and unusual transaction activity to relevant stakeholders.
  • Partner closely with Relationship Managers, Credit Risk, Operations, Compliance, and external counterparties to facilitate transaction execution.
  • Support ongoing process improvements, portfolio reporting, and maintenance of accurate transaction and collateral records.

The Successful Applicant

  • Degree in Finance, Business, Commerce, Economics or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in Trade Finance, Commodity Finance, Structured Trade Finance, or Trade Operations/Middle Office environments.
  • Strong understanding of trade finance instruments including Letters of Credit, Guarantees, Loans, and related financing structures.
  • Knowledge of inventory-backed financing, borrowing base facilities, working capital finance, and collateral management principles.
  • Experience assessing transaction risks, exposure monitoring, and exception handling within a banking environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex transactions and identify potential risks.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Effective stakeholder management and communication skills across internal and external parties.
