Reporting directly to the CEO, this role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution across transactions, governance, compliance, and business growth initiatives.

Our client is a rapidly growing developer and operator of hyperscale data centre serving some of the world's largest cloud and technology companies. Operating across key APAC markets, the organisation is backed by an established global investment and asset management platform.

Job Description

  • Serve as the principal legal adviser to the CEO and leadership team across all strategic, commercial and operational matters
  • Develop and execute the legal strategy to support business growth, governance and risk management across APAC
  • Lead complex transactions including project development, joint ventures, financing arrangements, acquisitions and strategic partnerships
  • Draft, negotiate and manage a broad range of commercial agreements covering construction, procurement, operations and customer contracts
  • Establish and oversee governance, compliance and corporate secretarial frameworks across multiple jurisdictions
  • Manage legal risk, disputes and external counsel relationships while ensuring cost-effective legal support
  • Build, mentor and scale the legal function as the organisation continues its regional expansion

The Successful Applicant

  • Qualified lawyer with current practising credentials in a recognised jurisdiction
  • Over 20 years of post-qualification legal experience within infrastructure, digital infrastructure, technology, real assets or related sectors
  • Proven experience in a Head of Legal, General Counsel or senior legal leadership position
  • Strong track record leading high-value and complex commercial, project or investment transactions
  • Experience advising executive leadership teams and boards on governance, risk and strategic business matters
  • Demonstrated success operating in high-growth, entrepreneurial, start-up or scale-up environments
  • Strong understanding of corporate governance, compliance and regulatory frameworks across multiple jurisdictions
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to independently manage negotiations, drafting and transaction execution
  • Experience building legal, compliance and governance frameworks and scaling legal teams
  • Exposure to data centres, digital infrastructure, renewable energy, real estate or adjacent sectors would be advantageous
