Job Description

  • Provide strategic legal guidance to senior management on commercial, regulatory and corporate matters
  • Review, negotiate and advise on contracts, commercial agreements and business transactions
  • Lead the development and enhancement of legal, compliance and governance frameworks
  • Drive compliance awareness initiatives, investigations, training and risk mitigation programmes
  • Partner with regional and global stakeholders to ensure consistent implementation of policies and standards
  • Establish processes to identify, assess and monitor legal, regulatory and compliance risks
  • Oversee corporate governance, internal controls, audits and reporting activities while promoting a strong culture of integrity and accountability

The Successful Applicant

A successful Chief Legal & Compliance Officer should have:

  • Degree-qualified professional with substantial experience in legal, compliance, corporate governance or related disciplines
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience within healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device or other highly regulated industries
  • Strong understanding of corporate legal matters, regulatory requirements and risk management principles
  • Proven experience developing and implementing compliance frameworks, policies and governance processes
  • Track record of advising senior executives on complex legal and compliance matters
  • Experience collaborating with regional or international stakeholders in a matrix organisation
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across all organisational levels
  • Demonstrated ability to balance commercial objectives with regulatory and ethical requirements
  • High level of integrity, professionalism and sound business judgement
