The role will combine strong commercial acumen with operational expertise to deliver high-quality products, while building and maintaining strategic supplier relationships.
  • Drive innovation and supplier strategy across diverse FMCG categories
  • Strong exposure to cross-functional leadership and regional sourcing

About Our Client

Our client is a well-established and highly recognisable retail group in Singapore. Serving millions of customers annually, the organisation is known for wide product range and commitment to quality, value, and innovation. With a robust supply chain network and close partnerships with global suppliers, the business continues to invest in product development capabilities to stay ahead in a competitive FMCG landscape.

Job Description

  • Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle across private label categories, including supplier sourcing, benchmarking, product sampling, commercial evaluation, production planning, and market launch execution
  • Drive strategic sourcing initiatives, identifying and onboarding suppliers across regional and global markets while balancing cost competitiveness, quality standards, and supply reliability
  • Own and execute formal tender processes, including RFQs, bid comparisons, clean sheet costing, and scenario analysis to support data-driven supplier selection and negotiation strategies
  • Develop and refine product specifications, translating commercial and consumer requirements into detailed briefs covering formulation, packaging, pricing architecture, shelf-life, and regulatory compliance
  • Negotiate and structure commercial agreements and contracts, covering pricing mechanisms, volume commitments, logistics terms, service levels, and risk mitigation clauses
  • Build and manage long-term supplier partnerships, conducting periodic business reviews to drive innovation, continuous improvement, and performance optimisation across quality, cost, and service KPIs
  • Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders (Brand, Marketing, Food Safety, Supply Chain, Inventory Planning, and Operations) to ensure alignment on product positioning, timelines, and go-to-market strategies
  • Oversee inventory planning and demand forecasting alignment, working with internal teams to balance supply availability with promotional calendars, seasonality trends, and inventory risk
  • Support and drive trade promotion planning, ensuring product readiness, pricing competitiveness, and supply continuity to maximise sales performance and market penetration
  • Monitor market trends, competitor benchmarks, and consumer insights to identify gaps and opportunities for new product development and innovation within the portfolio

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree with solid experience within FMCG, retail, consumer goods, or sourcing-driven environments
  • Demonstrated track record in end-to-end sourcing and product development, preferably within private label, own-brand, or high-volume consumer categories
  • Proven experience running tender processes and supplier negotiations, including cost modelling, clean sheet analysis, and contract structuring
  • Experience engaging with regional or international suppliers and navigating cross-border sourcing considerations is highly advantageous
  • Strong understanding of supply chain dynamics, including production lead times, logistics considerations, cost drivers, seasonality, and demand fluctuations
  • Experience working with product specifications and quality standards, ideally in regulated environments involving food safety or consumer compliance requirements
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to evaluate margin structures, pricing strategies, and trade-offs between cost, quality, and speed to market
  • Advanced analytical capabilities, with proficiency in working with large datasets to support forecasting, supplier performance evaluation, and business decision-making
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders across functions and influence outcomes in a matrix environment
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple product timelines simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • A solution-oriented and resourceful mindset, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, solve complex supply challenges, and drive outcomes independently

What's on Offer

  • Opportunity to shape and expand a high-impact portfolio
  • Exposure to strategic sourcing and regional supplier networks
  • Collaborative and fast-paced work environment with strong team culture
  • Career progression opportunities within a reputable and growing organisation
