Job Description

  • Partner with business teams across APAC to provide commercially focused legal advice and risk management support.
  • Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements including supply, manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, R&D and customer contracts.
  • Support finance and treasury stakeholders on financing arrangements, guarantees, security documentation and related transactions.
  • Advise on regulatory, product compliance, consumer protection, advertising and labelling matters.
  • Manage disputes, investigations and potential claims while coordinating with external legal advisors.
  • Provide legal support on regional customer engagements, business projects and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments and advise stakeholders on business implications and compliance requirements.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Legal Counsel should have:

  • Qualified lawyer with an LLB, JD or equivalent legal qualification.
  • Minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience gained within a reputable law firm and/or multinational corporation.
  • Strong commercial contracting experience with exposure to banking and finance matters.
  • Experience supporting complex cross-border transactions and regional business operations.
  • Background in manufacturing, consumer products, food ingredients, agriculture or related industries would be advantageous.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders within a matrixed international environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism and sound judgement.
