Before PageGroup, where were you and what were your specialisations?
I am a graduate in Information Technology & Communication Engineering from Manipal University, India. After graduation, I was accepted into the UK India Graduate Work Experience Program through which I began working as a programmer in a public listed company in England. I grew from a programmer role to a business analyst/project management role for all public sector projects within the organisation across the region. I led all client-facing, application roll-out and training activities for business users across the region.
This experience strengthened my knowledge of the complete software development life cycle while also honing my technical skills.
Why did you join PageGroup and what is your current role?
I was keen to move into a client-facing role in a fast paced, fun environment while being able to leverage upon my past experience and education. And the role of a Recruitment Consultant at PageGroup offered me the opportunity to work in a meritocratic environment, with a dynamic team and world class training to put my acquired skills to use. PageGroup is an organically built business with international opportunities which offers great learning experience and global exposure.
How has your past experience helped you in your current role?
Information technology is a complex and ever-changing industry, so I am able to leverage my past technical knowledge. My experience allows me to consult with my client on their requirements, to technically assess the skill sets required, advise IT professionals on their job search and build a name for myself in the market. Having worked through all stages of the software development lifecycle, I am able to gain greater visibility of the technology organisation structure and facilitate long-term partnerships.
Successes / achievements that you have accomplished during your time at PageGroup
I was in Platinum Club in 2013 and was a top biller for two years (2012 and 2013). I launched the technology discipline for PageGroup in India and received two promotions within two years.
