About Our Client
Our client is a global industrial battery manufacturer with total revenue in excess of USD 2 billion.
The VP of Operations will direct, manage and coordinate all activities in Asia associated with manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, maintenance and materials management of multiple factories.
Your key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
-Develop and formulate short and long term goals and objectives of the manufacturing functions
-Provide the direction and focus for the manufacturing factories to achieve the company goals and objectives and monitor their progress
-Direct the manufacturing activities to ensure maximum effectiveness is obtained for the production of quality products, within specific time and budgetary guidelines
-Accountable to ensure products meet and exceed customer quality standards and required delivery schedules are met
- Formulate processes to enable ISO certification and customers audit
-Participate in companywide procurement activities and negotiation of major procurement contracts to provide proper cost, delivery and quality commitments that improve on operating costs
-Apply Lean principles to build capability and resources within the different parts of the manufacturing functions and processes to create, develop and enhance efficient processes
-Recruit and develop people to ensure the efficient operations of all aspects of manufacturing
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate must hold a BSc Mechanical Engineering with preferred completion of MBA. You have minimum 15 years' of strong operational experience with at least 5 years in a regional senior management role with significant P&L responsibility.
You have successful track record in optimizing Operational Excellence i.e. Lean Six Sigma, understanding of key manufacturing metrics, and experience with sophisticated ERP systems.
You have effective leadership skills and possess a robust combination of technical expertise, business acumen and hands on approach. This role requires a regular travelling across the Asia Region. Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese is mandatory.
