Known for its community-focused mission and large-scale operations, it offers an environment where passionate professionals can directly influence the quality and freshness of products experienced by millions of shoppers.Job DescriptionDevelop, implement, and maintain quality, safety, and freshness standards for fish and seafood categories.Support store teams with technical knowledge, training, and coaching on fresh food best practices.Work closely with Category Managers to align on specifications, sourcing standards, and supplier quality.Monitor and improve cold chain performance across suppliers, distribution, and stores.Investigate quality issues, deviations, and customer complaints, proposing corrective and preventive actions.Track and analyse KPIs, including shrink/waste %, spoilage rates, audit scores, and freshness metrics.Partner with cross-functional teams on continuous improvement initiatives, including packaging, shelf-life trials, and store execution enhancements.Support pilot programs aimed at improving product freshness, operational efficiency, or category performance.The Successful ApplicantBachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related field.At least 5+ years of experience in fresh food quality, seafood handling, food safety, or technical roles, preferably within a retail or food distribution environment.Strong understanding of fresh food standards, including seafood handling, cold chain management, hygiene, and storage conditions.Proven ability to develop, implement, and enforce SOPs for fresh food operations.Excellent communication skills with the ability to train, guide, and influence store teams and cross‑functional stakeholders.Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with experience identifying trends and recommending corrective/preventive actions.Proficiency in MS Excel, and familiarity with food quality or inventory systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).What's on OfferYou will join a large, well-established retail organisation that plays a significant role in shaping Singapore's fresh food landscape.
