This role leads the advancement of sustainability knowledge, policy implementation, and business development initiatives, ensuring alignment with the firm's Sustainability Policy Framework, climate change commitments, and carbon-reduction initiatives.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the Southeast Asia sustainability strategy in support of business and client objectives.
  • Advise senior leadership on sustainability initiatives, sustainable finance solutions, and ESG product development.
  • Partner with coverage and product teams to engage clients on sustainable finance, green transactions, carbon-related solutions, and sustainability-linked KPIs.
  • Identify emerging ESG trends, regulatory developments, and sustainability risks, translating them into commercial and risk management opportunities.
  • Oversee client sustainability assessments and build internal capabilities through training and knowledge-sharing.
  • Ensure effective implementation and ongoing enhancement of sustainability policies, governance, and risk frameworks.
  • Build and manage strategic partnerships with global teams, industry bodies, NGOs, and external sustainability platforms.
  • Represent the organisation in sustainability networks, forums, and client-facing events across the region.
  • Lead sustainability-related communications, thought leadership, and content development for internal and external stakeholders.



The Successful Applicant

A successful Sustainability Director should have:

  • At least 10 years' experience in Banking including min 3 years of Sustainability experience.
  • Strong knowledge of sustainability practices and their application in the financial services sector.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute sustainability strategies effectively.
  • Experience in collaborating with diverse stakeholders and managing sustainability projects.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and standards in Singapore's banking and financial services industry.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on sustainable outcomes.
  • Effective communication and leadership abilities to inspire teams and stakeholders.
