We are seeking for an Iron Ore Derivatives Trader with at least 3 years of experience, initially focused on trade execution, risk management, and strategy implementation across SGX iron ore swaps and options.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Trade Execution & Market Interaction

  • Execute SGX iron ore swaps and options across the curve with strong focus on pricing, liquidity and cost efficiency.
  • Maintain active relationships with global brokerage firms, banks, and trading houses.
  • Source market colour, flows, and liquidity from counterparties to support trading decisions.



Strategy Development & Book Growth

  • Work with senior management to develop and refine iron ore trading strategies.
  • Contribute market views and trading ideas for discussion with the Chairman and leadership.
  • Progressively step up in responsibility towards managing risk, P&L, and trading book exposure as track record develops.



Hedging & Physical Integration

  • Support hedging of physical iron ore exposure using swaps and options.
  • Assist in structuring physical-to-paper strategies aligned with cargo flows and pricing windows.



Risk & Performance Discipline

  • Monitor daily P&L, risk limits, Greeks, and drawdowns.
  • Ensure strict adherence to internal risk frameworks and governance.



Market Intelligence

  • Maintain strong understanding of iron ore fundamentals including China demand, supply/demand dynamics, freight, inventory, and macro drivers.
  • Translate market insights into actionable trading strategies.



The Successful Applicant

Requirements

  • At lease 3 years of experience trading iron ore derivatives.
  • Strong execution experience in SGX iron ore swaps and options.
  • Good understanding of options pricing, volatility, and Greeks.
  • Strong market intuition and disciplined risk management.
  • Commercial mindset and strong communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
