About Our Client

Our Client is a world leader and one of the pioneers in the manufacturing industry of semiconductor equipment. With a recent expansion through in product offerings and an expert in process technology, they aim to maintain and improve their current performance both locally and regionally of which they are seeking for a Senior Buyer to be based at their HQ in Singapore.

Job Description

You will be reporting to the Head of Department directly. The majority of your responsibilities will include purchasing direct materials and commodity management.

Your responsibilities include:

  • To source for new products, enhance reliability and quality while reducing costs
  • To serve as the technical liaison between component and production suppliers and development engineers, identifying new and alternate sources of parts
  • To ensure accurate and timely release of requests by engineers
  • To work with finance and logistics team on invoices
  • To ensure that purchases orders are tracked and urgent materials are expedited
  • Coordinate with USA counterpart for shipment of parts, receiving of goods, and drop shipping
  • To maintain records of procured items such as the costs, quality and lead-time amongst others
  • Being able to participate in a conference call or presentation after office hours due to the USA's different time zones
  • To achieve operational focus by focusing on customer service and resolving requisition-to-pay issues daily
  • Implement, rework, purge & analyze the cost impacts of ECO
  • Inventory management and ensuring that rejected/upgrades parts are sent to suppliers
  • To coordinate on Framework Agreement and support spares

The Successful Applicant

You should have a Degree in Supply Chain / Engineering or related disciplines and have significant years of related working experience in purchasing direct materials. It is essential that you can demonstrate your ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. You must possess strong analytical, planning and interpersonal skills; with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. You should be proficient in Microsoft Office. Knowledge and experience in Oracle is an added advantage.
