About Our Client
Our Client is one of the pioneers in the semiconductor assembly industry and serves the global automotive, consumer, computing, communications and industrial markets. The company is committed to sustainability and delivering solution-focused results. They are currently looking for a Senior Buyer to assist them and contribute to this area.
Job Description
Your main responsibilities will be to source new products and alternative supplies while lowering costs and improving quality and reliability. While determining new and alternative sources, you will act as a technical interface between component/production suppliers and development engineers. You should be comfortable to work in different time zones.
Additional responsibilities will include:
- Ensure that PRs and POs are issued on time and accurately based on MRP, engineer requests, or buy lists.
- Coordinate with logistics and finance to resolve any issues that arise.
- Collaborating with external counterparts on logistical issues.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and spares / options orders.
- Manage and drive ECO implementation, rework, purge, and cost impact.
- To manage inventory and ensure that rejected or upgraded parts are returned to suppliers.
The Successful Applicant
You must have a Degree in engineering or supply chain management, as well as at least 5 years of experience in direct materials procurement with exposure to supplier and commodity management. You should be familiar with the Engineering Change process and be well-versed in Microsoft Office applications. You should also be able to understand Bill of Material, interpret technical drawings / specifications, and interpret technical drawings / specifications. It is preferable to be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications. In addition, you should also be able to work under pressure and have strong analytical, planning, and interpersonal skills.
