Our client is a fast-growing renewable energy company specialising in converting waste-based feedstock into sustainable fuels.

Job Description

  • Manage end-to-end vessel chartering activities, including evaluating vessel options, negotiating freight terms, coordinating fixtures, and monitoring voyage performance to ensure timely and cost-effective cargo movements.
  • Act as the key liaison with brokers, shipowners, agents, and logistics partners to oversee shipment schedules, voyage instructions, laytime tracking, and operational issue resolution.
  • Oversee procurement and order management processes, including purchase order creation, payment tracking, supplier coordination, inventory maintenance, and ensuring adherence to internal controls.
  • Coordinate feedstock operations by aligning with planning teams, suppliers, surveyors, and storage terminals to ensure cargo readiness, quality compliance, and smooth cargo transfers.
  • Ensure timely preparation, review, and submission of shipping and procurement documentation, maintaining accuracy and completeness for finance, audit, and compliance requirements.
  • Manage demurrage exposure by reviewing claims, maintaining tracking records, escalating operational risks, and supporting settlement negotiations in line with contractual obligations.
  • Support operational excellence initiatives through process improvements, reporting enhancements, system implementations, and sustainability or traceability-related projects.

The Successful Applicant

  • Possess a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Finance, Business, Supply Chain, or a related discipline, with at least 4 years of experience in cargo operations, vessel chartering, or feedstock logistics, ideally within the Energy & Natural Resources sector.
  • Strong hands-on experience in end-to-end vessel chartering, shipping operations, and supply chain/logistics management, including coordination of feedstock movements and shipment execution.
  • Sound knowledge of industry regulations, chartering frameworks, and logistics best practices, with a strong focus on ensuring compliant, efficient, and well-controlled operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to optimise logistics flows, interpret complex operational data, and drive continuous process improvement.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with a proven ability to manage and influence key stakeholders, including suppliers, brokers, shipowners, and internal teams.
  • Proficient in relevant logistics, operations, and supply chain management systems and tools to support effective planning, tracking, and reporting.
  • Willingness to travel as required for business needs.
  • Agile, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic operational environment.
