About Our Client

Our client is a leading utilities group in the Asia Pacific, and provides a suite of sustainable energy solutions for customers in Singapore and the region. As a government-linked corporation (GLC) by Temasek Holdings, they have several major subsidiaries in the digital, gas and electricity grid domains. Our client is now seeking for an experienced Legal Counsel in the area of IP, Digital and Corporate to join the Group's Legal Team.

Job Description

  • Provide full legal support to the organisation's companies in both Singapore and overseas jurisdictions, in respect of a broad spectrum of matters, including but not limited to rendering legal advice and handling of agreements including M&A and joint-ventures, procurement contracts and tenders, investigations, disputes and litigious matters
  • Handle general corporate and commercial matters such as loan agreements, lease agreements and employment matters
  • Establish and manage relationships with external legal firms
  • Oversight of legal risks across the Group's functions and business divisions
  • Update on new laws and regulations and alerting impacted divisions/functions

The Successful Applicant

  • Degree in Law from a recognised university and called to the Singapore Bar with at least 8 years PQE in practice and/or in-house
  • Possess excellent legal analytical skills, drafting and negotiation skills
  • Commercial minded, strong business acumen to understand business goals and strategy
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and relationship building skills
  • Good initiative, able to drive projects and possess a strong sense of accountability
  • Experienced in the energy industry and/or advising on strategic and complex legal matters
  • Prior experience with renewable projects will be an advantage
  • Strong experience in negotiating, drafting and executing commercial contracts
