They manage a group of companies in various resource-based industries, and are looking for a Legal Counsel with a focus on financial transactions.Job DescriptionThis role reports to the Team Lead, Legal, Banking.Play a pivotal role in supporting business units across various jurisdictions by providing insightful legal advice and navigating complex financing transactions.Be a trusted advisor, offering practical and timely legal counsel on diverse financing arrangements, including secured/unsecured loans, syndicated/bilateral facilities, trade finance, and ISDA transactions.Spearhead the drafting, review, and negotiation of critical banking and finance documentation, ensuring clarity, comprehensiveness, and alignment with company's objectives.Stay ahead of the curve by actively monitoring industry trends and developments in banking and finance law to proactively advise internal stakeholders.Maintain and enhance our internal template library, adapting to evolving legal landscapes and internal policies.Oversee the engagement of external legal firms, providing clear instructions and ensuring efficient service delivery.The Successful ApplicantMinimum 3 years post qualification experience (PQE) with a proven track record in handling banking and finance transactions, preferably with some experience representing borrowers.Deeply knowledgeable about financial products, banking terminology, LMA/APLMA documentation, and market standards.
