The Principal IT Business Partner is accountable for ensuring the effective delivery of high-quality IT services to business entities within a designated Business Area (BA). This role reports directly to the Senior Vice President of IT and the top leadership of the respective BA, serving as a key liaison between IT operations and business strategy and will be serivcing end client from Marine Sector.

Job Description

  • IT Strategy & Management: Collaborates with the Business Area (BA) leadership to shape and align IT strategies with group-wide objectives. Manages the BA's IT budget, cost allocations, vendor relationships, and contract oversight. Leads a team of business partners, project managers, and support engineers to ensure seamless coordination with broader IT functions.
  • Service Delivery: Ensures high-quality, efficient IT service delivery that meets agreed service levels. Regularly engages with BA stakeholders to understand their IT needs and integrates them into group IT plans, while also ensuring smooth rollout of group-wide initiatives within the BA.
  • Project & Portfolio Oversight: Manages the BA's IT project portfolio, ensuring timely progress and alignment with business goals. Provides leadership and mentorship to project managers and may directly lead critical programs, overseeing planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
  • IT Governance & Compliance: Promotes adherence to group IT policies, standards, and security practices across local and international units within the BA. Offers guidance on governance and cybersecurity requirements, ensuring operational systems comply with organizational standards.



The Successful Applicant

  • Holds a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Possesses a recognized certification in IT Project Management.
  • Brings at least 10 years of experience in IT, including a minimum of 3 years in a senior leadership role such as IT Director or Deputy Director.
  • Demonstrates strong proficiency in IT infrastructure, cybersecurity systems, web and portal development, and SAP ERP systems and processes.
  • Has successfully led multiple medium to large-scale IT projects, each valued over S$1 million.
  • Prior experience in an IT shared services environment, particularly in a business partnership capacity, is advantageous.
  • Exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both senior executives and operational staff
