We are seeking a highly motivated Real Estate Investment Manager to join the family office and support the firm's real estate investment strategy. This role will involve sourcing, evaluating, executing, and managing investments across direct acquisitions, co-investments, and fund investments.

Job Description

1. Acquisitions & Investment Analysis

  • Identify, evaluate, and underwrite direct real estate investment opportunities across various asset classes, with a primary focus on residential, commercial, and mixed-use properties.
  • Conduct market research, financial modeling, and due diligence to support investment decisions.
  • Assist in structuring, negotiating, and executing transactions, including direct purchases, joint ventures, and structured investments.
  • Build relationships with brokers, investment managers, developers, and operating partners to source opportunities.



2. Portfolio Management

  • Monitor the performance of direct real estate holdings, co-investments, and fund investments, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Conduct quarterly and annual portfolio reviews, preparing investment performance reports and financial analyses.
  • Support capital allocation decisions by assessing risk-adjusted returns across the portfolio.
  • Evaluate exit strategies and recommend portfolio rebalancing opportunities.



3. Asset Management

  • Oversee property-level business plans, including leasing strategies, capital improvement projects, and value-add initiatives.
  • Work closely with property managers, operators, and joint venture partners to optimize asset performance.
  • Track financial performance against underwriting assumptions and propose corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with local real estate regulations, tax requirements, and legal considerations.



4. Fund Investments & Co-Investments

  • Assess and conduct due diligence on real estate private equity funds and co-investment opportunities.
  • Develop relationships with fund managers and institutional partners to source and evaluate new investment opportunities.
  • Monitor fund performance, track distributions, and assess portfolio diversification.



5. Market Research & Strategy Development

  • Stay updated on real estate market trends, economic conditions, and capital market movements.
  • Provide insights into macro and microeconomic factors influencing investment decisions.
  • Assist in developing the firm's long-term real estate strategy, including sector allocation, geographic focus, and risk management.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field (MBA or CFA a plus).
  • At least 6 years of experience in real estate investments, private equity, asset management, or acquisitions.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis, and investment underwriting.
  • Experience with fund due diligence, joint ventures, and real estate capital markets.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to interface with external partners, brokers, and investment managers.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
