HSE Manager (6 months contract) - Chemical Process Safety

Our client is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager with a strong background in chemical process safety to oversee and improve our plant's safety operations. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of hands-on experience in process safety management, conducting HAZOP studies, safety audits, and gap analysis in the process industry, particularly in chemical processing. This is a critical role requiring regular plant visits and a deep understanding of chemical process safety, not construction safety. Candidates with experience in the oil and gas or refinery sectors are highly preferred.

• Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive health and safety programs specific to chemical process safety.
• Conduct HAZOP studies, safety audits, risk assessments, and gap analyses to ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
• Visit the plant regularly to monitor safety procedures, conduct risk evaluations, and implement safety improvements.
• Oversee process safety management (PSM) systems, ensuring all chemical processes comply with health and safety guidelines.
• Provide technical expertise and leadership during incident investigations and ensure that root cause analyses are conducted.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to address and mitigate safety risks in the chemical processing environment.
• Develop and lead safety training programs tailored to plant personnel to promote safety culture within the organization.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with local, national, and global safety standards.
• Prepare and present detailed safety reports and recommendations to upper management.
• Manage the preparation for and response to internal and external audits.
