Job Description

  • Develop and lead the regional sea freight procurement strategy, ensuring alignment with global logistics goals and business growth plans.
  • Manage end-to-end procurement of ocean freight services, including carrier selection, contract negotiation and performance monitoring.
  • Build strategic relationships with global and regional shipping lines, freight forwarders and logistics partners to ensure service reliability and cost competitiveness.
  • Lead freight procurement transformation initiatives, including digitalization, sustainability and risk mitigation.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (supply chain, operations, finance, compliance) to ensure seamless execution of freight procurement activities.
  • Monitor global trade trends, freight market dynamics and regulatory changes to inform procurement decisions and maintain agility.
  • Drive continuous improvement in freight procurement processes, KPIs and supplier scorecards.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing regional logistics team, fostering innovation and accountability.

The Successful Applicant

  • 15-20 years of experience in logistics/ freight procurement, with a strong focus on sea freight across APAC largely from FMCG industry
  • Proven success in managing large-scale freight procurement operations and supplier negotiations.
  • Deep understanding of international shipping practices, Incoterms, customs regulations and trade compliance.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience managing cross-functional and remote teams.
  • Familiarity with freight procurement platforms, analytics tools and sustainability frameworks.
