About Our Client

Our client, a market leading digital platform, serves working professionals in accelerating their career progression through continuous learning. Backed one of the largest EdTech unicorns globally, they have the aspiration and appetite to invest in new markets with a goal to establish key enterprise partnerships. This is the first hire in South East Asia, and we are looking for strong sales experience selling into CHRO or Head of HR contacts across financial services, manufacturing and/or public sector. Starting from scratch, the goal is to be a $5m USD ARR business by 2024. The role is expected to operate without a team in the first 6-12 months and hire their team as the revenue grows.

Job Description

Reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer, the sales leader will be the pioneer in SEA region and responsible for building the enterprise sales business.

The success of this role will be measured on:

  • Shaping and implementing business development plans and strategies across SEA
  • Driving and being accountable for topline growth, 1.5m USD in year one
  • Ability to appoint, train and retain partners for markets and industry segments where necessary
  • Being hands on as it is a new setup and a lot of processes are not in place
  • Advising the CRO, CFO and CEO on specific market needs and best practices in GTM

The Successful Applicant

This is a highly visible role within the business, being the leader for SEA. Successful applicants need to meet the following criteria to be considered:

  • Proven track record in driving SaaS or information services sales in SEA, ideally with 0-1 experience in setting up a sales network
  • Experience in selling to enterprise clients with a key focus on FSI and Public Sector
  • Ability to work independently - it is estimated that 10 or more years' experience would be needed to manage the demands of this role autonomously
  • Candidates who have launched Asian, American, or European subscription sales businesses in SEA would find this role a great fit
  • Experience in making deals valued at USD 200,000 and above
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills
  • Strong business ethics, values, and flexibility to travel when needed
