Head of Credit (Prime Brokerage)

This is a newly created role and the successful candidate's primary focus will be to work with the credit team in the brokerage space and effectively advise on matters across a range of existing and new products in Singapore. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all debt and equity capital markets products offered across the business.

Job Description

Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, the Head of Credit will be involved in the following :-

  • Review and manage financial matters, including remisiers' commission payments, dealer statements, and payouts, ensuring they align with risk and credit policies.
  • Monitor collection of outstanding contra losses, review monthly status reports, and address escalations as needed.
  • Approve various requests, such as amendments, payment extensions, privilege waivers, and trust account withdrawals.
  • Review trading representatives' and clients' trading exposures and limits.

The Successful Applicant

To qualify, the potential Head of Credit should meet the following criteria :-

  • At least 12 years of credit risk management experience within a securities brokerage.
  • Deep understanding of financial products and regulatory frameworks, including regulatory requirements.
  • Confident in expressing and communicating a credit opinion, including a negative recommendation.
  • Strong stakeholder collaboration skills.
