Job Description

As Head of Group Strategic Data Management, you will report into the Group Chief Technology & Data Officer and lead a team of 40 + individuals. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading data governance, master data management, and data quality initiatives across the organisation.
  • Overseeing the development and implementation of metadata management frameworks.
  • Driving the creation of analytics tools and solutions, enabling advanced business insights.
  • Setting the analytics strategy and guiding teams of data engineers, analysts, and scientists.
  • Translating business needs into technical solutions and evaluating vendor vs. in-house options.
  • Championing the adoption of cloud and big data platforms to support scalable analytics.



The Successful Applicant

A successful Head of Group Strategic Data Management should have:

  • 5+ years of experience in leading the Data Organisation of a large financial institution.
  • A strong background in technology and data management within the financial services industry.
  • Proven expertise in developing and implementing data governance frameworks.
  • Experience in managing large-scale data projects and teams.
  • Knowledge of advanced analytics and AI applications in business settings.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • A degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Data Analytics, or similar.
