About Our Client

Global firm which is listed in the US stock exchange is recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to be based in their Singapore office.

Job Description

  • Provide Technical Service to customer's equipment in Singapore and other Asia Pacific locations as needed.
  • Gain detailed technical knowledge of products and processes.
  • Provide phone, remote and on-site support for the maintenance and troubleshooting of product.
  • Work with Sales, Project Managers, service staff, customers and other personnel to solve technical issues.
  • Perform equipment checks
  • On-site and/or on-call support during scheduled events (for facilities that have purchased event support).
  • Appropriately document all services performed: service logs, work logs, inventory and shipping documents.
  • Installation support includes, but is not limited to:
    • Supervise field product installations.
    • Provide on-site technical support, which may include terminating fiber, field repair, testing and system level troubleshooting.
    • Provide basic operator and maintenance training.
    • Follow the procedures outlined in the Installation Supervisor's Guide.
  • Relay customer feedback on product performance and features to customer service and engineering. Including detailed site reports on installation and service work.
  • Train local authorized service companies and other technical staff.
  • Conduct product demonstrations.
  • Competently represent the organization to customers, in a confident and professional manner.
  • Use good judgement and make good decisions.
  • Work effectively as a team member assisting when and where needed. Become knowledgeable about and follow company procedures.
  • Help with the parts repair and return process and local inventory management.
  • Provide customer phone support and to join the site meeting if needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in an Electronics Engineering Technology, Electronics or Computer Engineering or related is required.
  • Significant experience in a field service or service engineering role
  • Strong computer skills are necessary including computer troubleshooting and hardware replacement, and be familiar with Microsoft office programs and internet navigation.
  • Be familiar with common digital/analog signal and hardware interface such as HDMI, DVI, SDI.
  • Flexibility to work after office hours at times during certain project installations
  • Comfortable with overseas travel
