We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager/Mechanical Engineer and oversee engineering design and project operations within the marine industry. The role requires a skilled professional to manage new build vessel projects, ensure compliance, and optimise efficiency in engineering and manufacturing processes.

Job Description

  • Provide engineering support to retain existing clients and support business development for new clients within the shipbuilding division.
  • Support commercial teams on new building and ship repair tenders, including new build and conversion projects.
  • Review contracts, technical specifications, and equipment specifications to ensure compliance with design and contractual requirements.
  • Develop preliminary design concepts aligned with new building tender requirements.
  • Prepare drawing schedules and coordinate technical meetings with clients, classification societies, designers, vendors, and system integrator.
  • Execute design and engineering production plans for awarded new building projects.
  • Interpret classification rules and maritime regulations, with the ability to review and understand design drawings.
  • Work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

The Successful Applicant

  • Relevant qualifications in engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in the marine industry
  • Strong knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Experience in budget management and cost optimisation.
