We are supporting a high-growth global payments fintech in the appointment of a Director, Sales (Payments) to lead its commercial build-out in Singapore. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role for someone with a strong track record in building and scaling SME and mid-market payments businesses in regulated environments. The role offers real ownership, with direct accountability for revenue growth and team development in Singapore.

Our client is a well-funded international payments platform with a strong presence across Asia, offering solutions spanning card acquiring, local payment methods, and adjacent financial services. As part of its Southeast Asia expansion, the firm is building its leadership team in Singapore and is focused on establishing a scalable, sustainable local go-to-market engine.

Job Description

  • Own and drive the Singapore sales strategy and revenue targets, with a primary focus on SME and mid-market customers.
  • Build, lead, and develop a local sales team, including hiring, performance management, and incentive structures.
  • Lead customer acquisition across direct sales, partnerships, and ecosystem channels.
  • Remain hands-on commercially, supporting key deals and strategic merchant relationships where required.
  • Work closely with product, engineering, marketing, and compliance teams to shape go-to-market execution.
  • Operate effectively in a regulated, build-stage fintech environment where products and processes are still evolving.

The Successful Applicant

  • Proven experience selling payments products within a fintech or banking environment.
  • Strong background in SME and mid-market sales.
  • Demonstrated experience building and leading sales teams.
  • Hands-on exposure to card acquiring and local payment methods.
  • Comfortable operating in early-stage or scaling environments.
