Due to business expansion, they are currently looking for a Crude Oil Trading Analyst that is commercially oriented with a keen eye in data analysis and quantitative skills to support in market analysis and supply/demand trends.

About Our Client

  • Our client is a well established and well backed Commodity Trading Firm that focuses on energy related products such as crude oil & LPG. Due to business expansion, they are currently looking for a Crude Oil Trading Analyst that is commercially oriented with a keen eye in data analysis and quantitative skills to support in market analysis and supply/demand trends.

Job Description

  • Summarise market news and conduct market analysis through research reports and information gathering
  • Update and provide on routine market reports like refining margins, arbitrage models and refining turnaround
  • Maintain a sour crude supply and demand model
  • Analysing price data with statistical models to find ways to extract value from the market
  • Formulate short-term market view and generate trading ideas based on a mix of fundamentals, technicals and positioning
  • Provide ad-hoc support and analysis in accordance with business requirements



The Successful Applicant

To succeed in this role, you should ideally possess the following:

  • Bachelor/Masters degree with strong mathematical inclination and/or chemical related subjects
  • At least 2 years of experience of a similar research/analysis role in a Oil & Gas Trading firm
  • Good understanding and data analytic experience of Oil & Gas upstream, refinery system and petrochemical economy
  • Strong knowledge and fundamentals in market analysis, supply & demand models/trends
  • Keen eye for data analysis and quantitative skills would be an added advantage
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, knowledge of VBA and other programming languages
