To support the continued business growth in Asia, we currently have an opening for a Business Development Professional to be based in the Singapore office. The individual will directly impact the top line of the company and will have the opportunity to develop long-term client relationships. In this position, the individual will sell directly to prospective clients and in conjunction with brokers.

Job Description

  • Achieve new business objectives as established by Regional Sales
  • Develop strategy and complete call plans / reports to ensure that all prospects' information and documentation are updated in the Strategic Relationship System.
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with prospective clients and brokers to successfully create continuous new business opportunities.
  • Manage new business opportunities by continuously developing prospects.
  • Maintain an active involvement in the local insurance and brokerage community by participating in meetings, conferences, and industry-related functions.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of competitors' products, services, current pricing strategy and practices.

The Successful Applicant

  • A bachelor's degree in any discipline;
  • At least 8 years' working experience in risk management, loss prevention engineering, claims or underwriting.
  • Experience in the broader insurance industry is desired but not essential.
  • Knowledge of sales processes (prospecting, nurturing, follow-up, follow-through, negotiating, closing) and proven sales experience is a plus.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including facilitating and presentation.
  • Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills.
  • Technology and social media savvy, including proficiency in Microsoft office software
