Job Description

  • Develop, construct, test and maintain architectures
  • Align architecture with business requirements
  • Data acquisition
  • Develop data set processes
  • Use programming language and tools
  • Identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality
  • Collaborate with data architects, modellers and IT team members on project goals
  • Implement large scale data ecosystems including data management, governance and the integration of structured and unstructured data to generate insights leveraging cloud-based platforms

The Successful Applicant

A successful Big Data Engineer should have:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field
  • Experience in the technology and telecoms industry
  • Knowledge in big data technologies
  • Experience in data modelling, ETL development, and Data warehousing
  • Experience with programming languages
