Human Resources Outlook Q2, 2015

The job flow for human resources roles in Singapore has show signs of improvement, especially at the managerial level. Most of these roles are a result of natural attrition and companies hiring in anticipation of turnover towards end of first quarter.

As a result of the rising demand for mid level talent, the sector is expected to experience a talent crunch as companies fight for the best candidates in their respective field. Human Resources professionals with strong regional experience as well as the ability to think commercially and partner the business and operations will be highly sought after. Employers should continue to anticipate staff turnover in the coming months and have a pipeline of candidates for back up. Also, talent retention remains critical and employers should ensure that merit increment and bonuses are competitive for top performers.

Additionally, as the US economy stabilises and continues to recover, we should see an increasing focus from American multinationals in emerging Asian markets such as Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and Philippines.
