About Our Client
Headquartered in New York, Kate Spade is a widely admired, unique fashion retailer specializing in accessories including handbags, shoes, jewelery for both men and women. It just started the business in China and has aggressive plans for expansion in the following years both in China and Asia. As part of these plans, Kate Spade is seeking to hire highly motivated candidates into key leadership roles. Potential candidates need to be passionate about the brand and love its products!

Job Description

The VP Operations will report to New York HQ and to the Joint Venture President, a well known and successful business leader with strong track record in the retail industry. In addition:

• Build up the back office support function
• Business partner with the President, and liaise closely with New York HQ to drive profitability, cost management and efficiency of the joint venture partnership
• Manage and assume responsibility for finance and accounting, business planning, strategy/business development, logistics, inventory and etc.
• Build core values, brand recognition as well as brand culture in China.

The Successful Applicant

• Retail experience is highly preferred, but not required
• Experience of managing the operations of a multi-channel fashion brand, including business development, forecasting & planning, financial strategy. Commercial operations experience a plus (logistics, inventory management)
• Demonstrated experience in leadership role and influencing “c” level executives
• Flexible and hands on, highly motivated, energetic and passionate about the brand!!
• Analytical and a forward planner
• Desire to take a broad and commercial role
• Excellent communicative ability in both Mandarin and English
