About Our Client

Our Client is a leading global bank with a full range of products and services. They are looking for a Compliance officer (VP level) to support the Fixed Income desk.

Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Markets Compliance for South East Asia, your role will be:

• To provide compliance and regulatory advice to the Fixed Income desk in Singapore;
• To liaise closely with the Business Heads and Business Unit managers in those departments;
• To liaise and maintain strong relationship with key regulators and exchanges like MAS and SGX;
• To educate the business to Compliance requirements;
• To provide advice to the business on legislative and regulatory obligations of the activities conducted;
• To review documentation and new products proposals;
• To identify new rules and regulations to be implemented or changed;
• To coordinate internal investigations when required;
• To ensure that the businesses adhere to the firm policies and procedures and to the regulatory requirements.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate must have:

• Degree in Banking and Finance or equivalent;
• STRONG KNOWLEDGE (trading through to trade confirmation) of relevant fixed income products (such as structured transactions, credit derivatives, interest rate derivatives, FX and commodities);
• Ability to interpret, understand, advise upon and formulate an appropriate course of action on a broad range of legal and regulatory provisions;
• Previous experience in an Investment Bank is a MUST;
• Ability to analyze compliance risk and where necessary escalate matters to the appropriate management level;
• Previous experience in Singapore and strong knowledge of the MAS and SGX requirements;
• Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with different level of seniority.
