Being a major player in his field my client interacts globally and locally with government bodies and local authorities. In order to strengthen an experienced public affairs team, my client is looking to hire a Government Relations Manager.

Job Description

- Direct the influencing of policy and legislation
- Establish and maintain relationships with government officials in Singapore and regional government institutions
- Pro actively build the company's reputation with policymakers
- Monitor legislative developments and identify emerging issues to the company
- Provide strategic counsel to internal customers on meshing business goals with political realities to address them
- Serve as Global Government Relations link to internal customers
- Successful resolution of issues requiring work with many individuals and organizations both internally and externally
- Represent the company in industry associations and participate in external events as needed

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will have:
- Significant Government Relations experience (3-5 years)
- Experience in the area of trade and/or economic policy
- The ability to provide strategic counsel to the company business leaders and to contribute to envision the Government Relations strategy in Asia
- Strong communication skills both in writing and orally in view of building effective stakeholder relationships and advocating the company's point of view
- The potential to lead and develop others to grow capability
- The capability to work effectively in a highly diverse, global, multi-functional environment that works across multiple time zones
- Some business travel is required to visit with various local country resources and attend external meetings
