About Our Client
Our client is a freight forwarding and supply business with a huge network of offices globally and an especially strong presence around APAC. The company is seeking an Ocean Team Lead to take control of a mid-sized operations team focusing on ocean freight forwarding, which is the company's main focus.

Job Description
In this role you will lead a team of staff at different career stages, handling operations (order processing, permit work and other customer-facing responsibilities) for a range of large-scale MNC clients. You will lead, train and develop the team to deliver a high level of operational service by implementing SOPs, monitoring and managing KPIs, managing manpower and resources as well as working the commercial staff in the company to ensure upcoming challenges and opportunities are met. The company has been attracting a lot of new business through a series of successful RFQs locally and regionally so a strong operational performance is needed to maximise these opportunities.

The Successful Applicant
You will be an ocean freight forwarding professional with management experience of at least a small team, as well as a strong operations background. You will be a proven staff manager with training, development and leadership skills evident on your CV from past experience. Ideally you will be educated to degree level with a steady working history. Knowledge of customs processes and some relationships with major shipping liners would be highly advantageous.
