Job Description

Reporting to the Global Supplier Development Manager, the incumbent will

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to site SQE?s for the commodity(ies) supported, in conjunction with GCM Strategies.
  • Participate in the development of GCM sourcing strategies, driving the consideration of supplier capabilities, achieved performance, lowest Total Cost Of Ownership, etc? in the decision making process.
  • Act as the escalation point for site supplier issues within the commodities supported, once all site available actions have been exhausted.
  • Driving synchronization of capabilities, technology roadmaps, customer and industry needs, etc? Provide leadership in commodity technology for commodity(ies) supported. Quality and Technology (Process and Product) capabilities identification and tracking.
  • Drive continuous performance improvement with respective suppliers at the process and product / component level to achieve targeted levels via trend analysis of performance data and initiation of corrective action / root cause analysis.

The Successful Applicant

You have a technical degree certification (i.e. EE, ME, QE) with demonstrated technical expertise in one or more commodity fields (Power Supply/battery/cells, Connectors, cables etc.), plus 5 years experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer/Manager.

Additional certification such as ASQ CQE, CQM, CQA; or ISO Lead Auditor is highly desirable. You are experience in commodity / industry for commodity(ies) assigned and have worked in Design area, with Design Teams, especially DFX reviews. Familiarity with and experience in applying Six Sigma methodologies is desirable (qualified Green Belt / Black Belt preferred). Prior business /commercial experience (i.e. purchasing, commodity management) is a plus.

Domestic and international travel is required.
