Our Client is a globally recognised name in the petrochemical sector, they are a truly global business with assets and customers in virtually all regions.

Job Description

Reporting to the Business Development Director the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the regional business manager in the development and implementation of the business plan for the APME region.
  • Close cooperation with the cluster lead sales managers, developing and implementing new business opportunities (especially China) and new customer value propositions, also supporting re-contracting with existing customers.
  • Working with the Global and Regional Supply team, to procure chemicals on the open market to meet contractual sales as part of over commitment strategy and to potentially provide for future pre-marketing activities.
  • Executing a small percentage of spot sales to balance inventory levels. This is also a key contingency in the event the marketing plan fails to place out all the product contractually.
  • Gathering and analysing market intelligence obtained through the external business-trading network.

The Successful Applicant
The Successful candidate will be degree qualified, preferably with a post graduate qualification. You will have 6-8 years experience within a commercial role. You will know and interface well with the trading houses, be familiar with spot market and spot sales of bulk petrochemicals and comfortable to deal with the uncertainties of the industry. You should have experience in developing new business accounts and have experience negotiating term contracts at senior levels. A successful track record in this capacity will be strongly considered.
