About Our Client
Our client is a global leader within the Logistics, Transportation and Freight Forwarding industry. This Business Development Director role will cover all vertical markets and is not specialising within a particular sector.
The Business Development Director will be responsible for executing local and regional sales strategy which will involve proactively developing and winning new customers. You will provide value to your customers by recommending appropriate and effective solutions based on customer needs and using your in-depth industry knowledge.
Through partaking in productive and efficient sales activities within the region you will increase revenue and gross profit by a defined percentage each year. You will help to deliver the country and regional budget by maintaining a healthy sales pipeline and ensuring good contractual performance and ensuring that your customers pay their invoices in a timely manner.
A key responsibility will be to collect relevant customer information for the RFI/RFP/RFQ process and to prepare documents for customer implementation. This will ensure efficient handover and implementation for the Operations division and will ensure that the business meets customer expectations (SLA's & SOP's).
You will also be responsible for gathering information on existing and potential customers, competitor activity and the current state of the market within each vertical sector that has been targeted.
The Successful Applicant
We are interested in speaking to candidates who have a proven track record of success within the Logistics, Transportation and Freight Forwarding industry. You will have ideally worked in a business development role in Singapore or South East Asia and enjoying the role of a "hunter".
We are looking for the following criteria for the Business Development Director role:
- Minimum of 8 year's experience with successful sales record within the freight forwarding and logistics industry
- Sales experience and working knowledge of the international transportation and logistics industry
- Familiarity with the financial aspects of the local economy as well as international market conditions and trends
- Understanding of international business issues, including currency factors and cultural differences
- Fluent in English
- Confident and capable with presentation techniques and comfortable with presenting to groups
