Transport - UK
The UK has a comprehensive public transport system covering the whole country. Major towns and cities are connected by a national, above ground rail network.
The main mode of public transport in London is the London underground system also known as “The Tube”. Travel by tube offers a fast and effective way of travelling to most areas of London with 275 stations conveniently located across the city.
London’s bus network is one of the largest urban transport systems in the world. Every weekday over 6,800 buses carry around six million passengers over 700 different routes.
Taxis and mini cabs operate throughout the UK and whilst they are typically more expensive than public transport they can often be the quickest way to get to your destination.
Buying a car can provide you with the freedom of independent travel and is a reasonably cost effective mode of transport if you are living outside of London.
